With recent comments such as “Simply Amazing”...“Their vocals will blow you away”...”The most entertaining show I’ve seen in a long time”...”We had a blast”. The excitement and fun are back in live music with the Carolinas’ Favorite American Band”..... SUPERGLIDE!
Formed in January 1998, this power house quintet decided they wanted to give audiences something different, unique and most of all....fun! It’s no wonder why they quickly became one of the Carolinas’ top drawing groups with their unique brand of the hits of the seventies, eighties & today. Take one part dynamic & versatile lead vocalist Joey Bishop, mix that in with the powerful & explosive twin guitar tandem of Greg Hurley and Scott Waters backed with the driving rhythm section of drummer extraordinaire Mark Hill & simply put the incredible Robbie Hegler on bass musically this band is on top. Now combine that with the, unmatchable four part harmony of Mark, Robbie, Greg & Scott you now have a combination rarely seen.
SUPERGLIDE understands that audiences want to have a good time, they want a fun, exciting and entertaining show full of great music. That is exactly what SUPERGLIDE is bringing their audiences plus much, much more. Memorable fun loving music from the seventies, eighties & today that gets your blood pumping, your heart pounding and makes everyone want to get up and dance. You can’t help but have a good time!
Their passion for the music is unmatched and their ability to bring it every night comes across in each and every performance. It’s no wonder why they have been setting attendance records all over. To quote one business owner, “They are simply the best band I’ve seen, very polished & professional they really know how to entertain an audience”.
Because of these qualities, SuperGlide has been honored to open for such legendary national artists as: The Little River Band, The Doobie Brothers, Rick Springfield, Chicago, Starship, Firehouse, The Voices of Classic Rock & Bachman Turner Overdrive, just to name a few.
Unforgettable songs, incredible vocals & amazing harmonies and a band like few have seen in recent years all packed into one exciting & entertaining package. SuperGlide will give you a show that’s both fun and memorable, one like you’ve never heard or seen before. It’s definitely a great time & a show you don’t want to miss!
Joey Bishop/Lead Vocals
Joey Bishop started singing around the same time he began speaking at the age of 2 and had his first public performance when he was 7. Joey left his family in Kentucky at 19 to go to Muscle Shoals, Alabama to sing & since then has never looked back. He had been performing in numerous touring acts across the Southeast & Mid West when he got a call from a band called Crystal Ace from Charlotte in 1993 & he has been there since.
After a 6 year stint in an original project called Hard Charlie, Joey & the band received radio airplay and achieved regional success touring as the support act with 38 Special, Ringo Starr, Ace Frehley & Eddie Money. It was after these accomplishments that Joey realized it was time for a switch in direction.
He then received a call from an old drummer friend, Mark Hill, who wanted to put together something unique for this area. Our ideas & personalities clicked & SuperGlide was born. Since then SuperGlide have had the honor of sharing the stage with the band Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, The Little River Band, Rick Springfield & many others just to name a few. Now the proud father of a 6 1/2 year old daughter the memories of me singing non-stop have come full circle. “There is absolutely nothing better than the feeling of making people happy & taking them away from whatever hardships they may be experiencing, it truly is what I live for”.
Joey Bishop endorses Shure wireless microphones & Shure inner ear monitor systems as well as Westone Inner ear buds. He also uses Rhythm Tech tambourines & percussion.

Mark Hill / Drums and Lead Vocals
Mark Hill was born in Charlotte N.C. & began playing the piano at age 4, under the direction of his Grandmother, Annelle Hill. Mrs. Hill was a renowned piano teacher in the Charlotte area for decades.
At the age of 7, Mark then became interested in the drums & the rest is history. He was given his first set of drums ($ 50.00) in 1974, and began jamming with older brother Marty as a duo at home entertaining family and friends. The two then began playing concerts in front of large audiences in 1976. Mark went into the recording studio in 1978 with his brother to record an original song for a record being produced by 95Q, a Charlotte rock radio station.
In 1980 Mark joined his first band playing talent shows, school events & parties, all thru high school
until graduating. He then went on the road playing the East Coast circuit with the popular original band, Deuce/Kid Khaos from 1987 -1989, winning the ''Reliable Music Battle of the Bands'' in 1989. Tired of the road, He then began writing original material with brother Marty and with friends. During this time, Mark did numerous recording sessions and in the process, received airplay from local rock radio stations, 95.7 & 99.7.
In 1992, Mark assembled the regional powerhouse rock band, ''Phantom Park''. Phantom Park became very popular in the southeast, selling out clubs and small venues, and also opened for many national acts as well as showcasing for many record labels during their short stint together. Phantom Park was also able to get their song, ''Rainy Day'' in regular rotation on WRFX 99.7 the Fox. The song was a top 5 request record for 5 straight weeks, playing in regular prime time rotation. When music trends began changing in the 90's Phantom Park dissolved.
In 1997, after 2 years of frustrating down time. Mark then co-founded the very successful band SuperGlide, playing nearly a 1000 shows, for 9 unbelievable years. Mark also is very active in writing and recording original songs, and doing session work for various artists, and has even produced several records to date. Mark also sings lead and back-up vocals, plays guitar, bass, and B - 3 Organ. He also plans to continue playing live shows and writing/recording and hopefully in time, sell songs and tour nationally and internationally.

Robbie Hegler / Bass Guitar and Lead Vocals
Robbie Hegler
Robbie discovered the bass guitar at the early age of 13, and began performing live one year later with the band he founded in high school, “Silent Run”. Silent Run was very successful performing out on the circuit until January of 1987.
Robbie, now only 23 years old, received the call from Myrtle Beach legends Sugar Creek now simply known as “The Creek”. Robbie was with The Creek during the height of their success until they ended in October 1990. For the next eleven years he traveled extensively with The Fantastic Shakers, successfully performing & singing all up & down the East Coast.
Then when he received a call from his former cohort from The Creek, Tim Clark, they realized it was time to reunite and play together in “The Tim Clark Band”. Robbie then hooked up with Jim Quick who founded The Coastline Band, and accepted the position with Jim continuing to perform with Coastline for 3 years.
After the birth of his son Grayson Robbie decided to take a well deserved time off from traveling and stay home. He was away for about 4 months when he received an offer from the band, Swampdawamp based out of Charlotte, NC. Robbie played briefly with Swampdawamp and then received a call from his brothers in SuperGlide. He was all too ready to join forces with this amazing group of singing musicians especially since he had a history with every one of the guys.
Now after playing over 5,000 shows in his career, it is here with SuperGlide that Robbie feels most at home and is able to add his immense musical talent and unbelievable natural vocal range to an already incredible band.

Greg Hurley / Lead Guitar and Vocals
Greg Hurley knew from the age of 10 that he and the guitar would be life long friends. This self taught guitarist from the start went on to teach hundreds of students himself. Early influences were Ace Frehley, Eddie Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Randy Rhodes, Neal Schon, Steve Lukather, George Benson, Tony Rice, Ricky Skaggs, Steve Lynch, Gary Rossington, Ricky Medlock, Jeff Watson, and Stevie Ray Vaughn just to name a few.
